…urges Imolites to give the governor some more time to correct Okorocha’s misrule
An aide to the govenror of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, have called on Imo people to give Uzodinma some time and support, to help him correct the eight years misrule of former governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
The aide who didn’t want to be mentioned was talking to the publisher of MaaziTV during a telephone chat, and used the opportunity to appeal on Imo people to be patient with the govenror.
“Imo people didn’t vote a magician. Senator Hope Uzodinma is not a magician. Even a magician will be confused with the mess we met on ground when we took over, which every Imolite is fully aware of.
“Right now, Senator Hope Uzodinma is practically reconstructing Imo from the scratch, because Okorocha left nothing behind to work from.
“At this time in our history, should be still be talking about roads? But that is a burden Okorocha put on us. The money we are using for roads right now, could have been used for some other people oriented project in the state.
“We have a lot of wasted years to recover, and nobody, with the limited resources available, and the huge debt burden Okorocha dragged us into, can get the job done in the shortest time possible.
“The immediate administration before us, spent eight months trying to make sense of the mess Okorocha created.
“Within such a short time, we have done more, and surpassed even Okorocha’s eight years. I must recant by saying that saying that we have surpassed Okorocha’s eight years would be an insult to Imo people, because Okorocha spent eight years doing nothing but destroying Imo State. He did nothing to be compared to.
“I plead with Imo people to pray for our governor. You don’t know what he is faced with everyday in trying to get something for Imo State. He is like Mbakwe, the weeping governor who weeps to make sure his people are not left behind.
“With the economic and financial mess Imo is in alone, it’s still a miracle that we are still able to construct roads and meet our obligations.
“The tunnels we are rebuilding now, were all done by Chief Sam Mbakwe, yet Okorocha destroyed them, and charted away those steel tunnels worth billions of naira today, to God knows where.
“We are starting from the scratch. By the time we complete the tunnels, you won’t suffer flooding again, then we can comfortably address other roads that beg for attention.
“Senator Hope Uzodinma feels the plights of Ndi Imo. He is very aware of our problems. He is not interested in material enrichment or acquisition of property everywhere, and he has sworn to ensure that every Imo property stolen by anybody or groups of persons, must be returned.
“I know we are not there yet, and things are still difficult, but be rest assured that Senator Hope Uzodinma is on top of the situation.”
