It was today, December 14th, 2023, that the people of Umuagha Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area joined together to formally introduce their chosen Eze-elect, His Royal Highness Barrister Godfrey Ihenacho to the world.
The people of Umuagha Autonomous Community, presented His Royal Highness Eze Barr Godfrey Ihenacho, to Honorable Engr. Innocent Ikpamezie, the representative of Mbaitoli in the Imo State House of Assembly, and to Honorable Hamilton Chinasa Opara, the Sole Administrator of Mbaitoli Local Government Area.
A lively ceremony unfolded at the Local Government Headquarters in Nwaorieubi where Umuagha people, in great numbers, introduced Eze Godfrey Ihenacho to Honorable Chinasa Opara, who represents the State Government in the Local Government.
Honorable Opara expressed satisfaction with the community’s choice to acknowledge their new leader, filling the void left by the late Eze Alphious Chikezie.
Having fulfilled their obligations of presenting the experienced legal practitioner from the United States, Eze Godfrey Ihenacho, to the Sole Administrator, the people proceeded from Nwaorieubi to Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
There, they met with Honorable Engr. Innocent Ikpamezie, who warmly welcomed Eze Ihenacho and the Umuagha delegation, breaking protocol during the Assembly session to do so.
While being deeply involved in Umuagha’s affairs, Eze Barrister Godfrey Ihenacho emphasized his commitment to the community’s progress, calling for unity and peace across Umuagha and Imo State.
His impactful contributions, including restoring power to the community and providing aid during the COVID-19 lockdown, earned unanimous support from the villagers, who seek a leader focused on development and self-sufficiency.
Eze Ihenacho’s dedication to communal growth, coupled with his social, moral, and religious contributions, resonated deeply with the villagers, reinforcing their unanimous call for him to lead Umuagha.
In his address after the presentation, Eze Barrister Godfrey Ihenacho urged unity and peace, pledging his dedication to fostering progress and harmony within Umuagha and Imo State.
