The General Manager of the Owerri Capital Development Authority OCDA, Engr. Innocent Ikpamezie, have called on Imo people, regardless of their party affiliations, or religious creeds, to set aside their differences, and join hands with the Senator Hope Uzodinma administration, to save the state from collapse.
Ikpamezie made the call at his office, while playing host to some popular online media practitioners in the state, including MaaziTV, IfeanyiCY Blog, Quingist, , amongst others.
Ikpamezie who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, expressed the pain of Senator Hope Uzodinma, over the spate of insecurity in the state.
Engr. Ikpamezie described the news making rounds that Gov Hope Uzodimma invited the military to Imo state to kill people as fallacious and ploy by enemies of the state to entrenched insecurity in Imo.
He expressed deep concern about the misinterpretation of Gov. Hope Uzodinma, a burden bearer, a humane, kind and emotive person who cannot even hurt a fly.
According to him, no government or governor will want any of his citizen dead.
The OCDA Chief explained that any body who joins in igniting crisis in the state cannot be said to be a lover of the state.
“I have known Senator Hope Uzodinma for so many years,” he stated. “And I’ve not seen him more disturbed than he is now. The sad stories we hear from all over the state worries him so much. That man is bleeding inside. This is a man who came to work for the state, and you all can attest to his strides the moment he took off as govenror of Imo State.”
Ikpamezie urged the media in his campaign for peace across the state.

“We all have our various affiliations politically,” he stated. “But right now, it’s not about who hates Hope Uzodinma or who loves him. It’s about saving Imo together. Afterwards, we can go back to out politicking and you can decide to support the Hope Uzodinma administration, or fight the government based on governance and policy.
“If we are all preaching peace, the perpetrators of these heinous acts, will realise the people are not in support of what they are doing, and turn a new leaf.
“Let’s work together to restore that peace Imo State is known for. Personally, I like hanging out with friends after a hard day at work, but since this matter started, the once peaceful state with a very vibrant night life has become a ghost of it’s former self. Now people start running home before 6 pm. It shouldn’t be so. It’s very harmful not just to the citizenry, but to the economy of the state.”
In reaction, the media practitioners assured Engr Innocent Ikpamezie, of their full support, towards ensuring that peace is restored to the state.
