…As former governor enters second day in detention

It is now almost two days, since operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, whisked former governor of Imo State, and Senator representing Orlu Zone, Owelle Rochas Okorocha away to their headquarters at Wuse 2.

While Okorocha remains in EFCC detention, a former House of Assembly member who represented Orsu State Constituency, Hon Stan Dara was also reportedly arrested by operatives of the EFCC.

Dara while in the State Assembly, headed a committee in charge of road project when Okorocha was govenror, and later after his exit from the State Assembly, was appointed as an aide to the former governor.

Stan Dara along with Ike Amina, were the Imo lawmakers captured in an infamous photograph, kneeling down and begging Okorocha, with the then Speaker of the State Assembly, late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu looking on.

The reason for kneeling before Okorocha was not given, but speculations back then was that it had something to do with road projects, which Stan Dara executed.

No reason had been given for Stan Dara’s arrest, but it is believed his arrest may be connected to the reason Okorocha was arrested by the Commission.

Agents of the Commission are reportedly in the state at the moment, and may be following up on their investigations into the activities of the former governor, while he was in power.
