Imo Traditional rulers, have been given stern warning by the kidnappers, who abducted Eze Charles Iroegbu, to stay away from politicians, or risk incurring their wrath.
Eze Iroegbu, who is the Traditional ruler of Umuezii, Aboh Mbaise LGA was abducted on Tuesday of last week, along with members of his cabinet on their way back from a wedding ceremony they attended at Ehime Mbano.
Upon regaining his freedom, Eze Iroegbu told newsmen, that his abductors were against traditional rulers in Igboland romancing with politicains, and warned them to turn a new leaf, of risk incurring their wrath.
Iroegbu while addressing journalists at his palace during the weekend, stated that his abductors didn’t take a kobo from him, but warned that any traditional rulers in the state, who does not respect himself and his stool, will have himself to blame.
Iroegbu stated that his abductors demanded that Royal fathers should stop singing praises to politicians and they should change their ways.
Iroegbu described his abductors as freedom fighters, rather than criminals.
Eze Iroegbu was held for three days by his abductors, and was allegedly released after the kidnappers consulted their Oracle and their Chief Priest instructed that he be released.
Eze Iroegbu was abducted along with two of his palace guards, as well as seven members of his cabinet, who accompanied him to the wedding ceremony at Ehime Mbano.
