The factional Imo State All Progressives Congress APC Chairman, Mr. Daniel Madueke Nwafor, have frowned at what he termed as imposition of candidates on the party.

This was in reaction to the outcome of the Aba South Federal Constituency By- election, which saw Chimaobi Ebisike of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, defeating Orji Uzor Kalu’ s brother, Mascot Uzor Kalu, who carried the All Progressives Congress broom into the election.

Nwafor made his reaction on his Facebook page, where he frowned at candidates being imposed on the party, who may not have what it takes to win the main election.

He pointed out that the outcome of the election was a eye opener to the party, and urged members to abide by the party rules and regulations.

His post reads as follows;

” I have severally asked our great party the APC to obey the rule of Law and its own rules. I have advised against all forms of imposition and subversion of rules. As founding members of the party, we will continue to engage the party leadership to allow free and fair processes in choosing candidates for the forthcoming elections. Yesterday’ s election in Abia state is an eye opener. We must run the party in the right way. We struggled to entrench APC in our individual wards and LGA’ S and so will not be in a hurry to abandon this our party yet but we continue to insist that the right things are done for the growth and progress of our dear party. “

Mascot Uzor Kalu on the other hand, have accepted his defeat in the hands on Ebisike, as he had decided against challenging the victory in court, to allow the winner concentrate and work, despite claims of irregularities

He made the disclosure in a Press release he personally signed, and congratulated the winner of the election.
