Today, 21th of January 2021, came with the news of the invasion of property belonging to the former Govenror of Imo State, and Senator representing Orlu Zone, Senator Rochas Okorocha, by Imo State Govenrment officials, allegedly at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma.
This property, located along Aba road, was the same property invaded by officials of the State Govenrment, when Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha held sway.
A court order prevented the state, from foreclosing the property when Ihedioha was in office, handing it back to Okorocha.
With the Invasion of this property by officials of the State, supposedly at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma, it seems Uzodinma is bent on making life very difficult for the former Govenror, and possibly, help him make up his mind about leaving the APC.
Okorocha, in a recent address to the press, indirectly attacked the All Progressives Congress, and President Muhammadu Buhari’s emergence as president, and gave hint of the formation of a new political arrangement, that will sweep the APC out of power.
There have been expectations, that Okorocha might be thinking of returning to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, while others believe that he might be forming a new party.
The invasion of his property, barely days after his statement, have been viewed by watchers, as a calculated attack on his person, either with the blessing of the National Body of the party, or by Uzodinma, who may want to force Okorocha out of the party as soon as possible.
Okorocha and Uzodinma have been engaged in fierce political battle, over who is in control of the party in the state.
Okorocha is backing the Daniel Nwafor faction of the party, which has gotten two court rules in it’s favour, against the Nlemigbo faction backed by Senator Hope Uzodinma.
The invasion of the warehouse, is viewed by many Imolites, as the first of many more of such occurrences that may follow, as the state Govenrment, led by Senator Hope Uzodinma, may have decided to finally move against Okorocha.
