News broke a few days ago, exposing fraudulent dealings, between Nigerian Super Cop, Abba Alhaji Kyari, and international fraudster, Ramon Olorunwa Abbas aka Ray Hushpuppi.
A district court in the United States of America, presided over by Judge Otis D. Wright, II, found Abba Alhaji Kyari culpable in three count charges which includes, Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud, Conspiracy to Engage in Money Laundering and Aggravated Identity Theft.
Also found culpable in the crimes listed by the court alongside Abba Alhaji Kyari, were Abdulrahman Imraan Juma aka Abdul, Kelly Chibuzo Vincent, Rukayat Motunraya Fashola, Bolatito Tawakalitu Agbabiaka and Yusuf Adekinka Anifowoshe.
By the order of the court, the American Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI, have been ordered to produce them to face the charges filed against them.
It can be recalled that Ray Hushpuppi was arrested in his Dubai United Arab Emirates base, and flown to the United States of America, where he recently admitted guilt, and started spilling the beans on those involved in the scam with him, which surprisingly included Nigeria’ s most celebrated police officer, Abba Alhaji Kyari.
Also recall that the FBI had some time ago, launched massive clampdown on internet fraudsters from Nigeria, which led to the arrests and repatriation to the United States of America for trial of 29 persons.
The list of those repatriated were made up of Igbo and Yoruba people, and the Nigerian government, without protest, rounded them up, and bundled them al off to the United States.
Interestingly, the Nigerian government have started dragging their feet in the case of Abba Alhaji Kyari, with the Inspector General of Police, insisting that the Police will carry out their own internal investigation, before listening to what the United States has to say.
One begins to wonder where the same internal investigation was, when Igbo and Yoruba young men and women, were so easily arrested and shipped off to the United States, following similar warrant put out in their names?
One also begin to wonder, if the super cop, Abba Alhaji Kyari who is of Fulani extraction from Borno State, had been from Igbo or Yoruba extraction, would the IGP insist on internal investigation, as he doing in the case of Kyari, or would the Igbo or Yoruba officer be summarily dismissed, and handed over to the Americans within 24hrs?
Unlike the Nigerian security agencies, who declare a person guilty without investigation, the American security operatives, take years to build their cases on any individual, and must possess unarguably facts against Kyari, which must have by now, been presented to the Nigerian authorities, before the warrant for Abba Alhaji Kyari’ s arrest was issued.
The world is now watching Nigeria, a country that carried out an illegal repatriation of Nnamdi Kanu, a British citizen, travelling with a British passport, from Kenya, and would have done same to Sunday Igboho, if the Benin Republic authorities had been as corrupt as the Kenyan counterparts. The world are looking to see if Nigeria will repatriate Kyari to the United States of America.
