You could recall on the 11th day of May, 2021, I raised alarm here on the Social media calling for the Governor to arrest the contractor handling Mcc/Uratta /Toronto Junction road for unprofessional and substandard engineering work. The contract job already executed in my estimation has reached about 45% but seems to lack best practices in construction and quality engineering.
I am happy to inform you that Governor Hope Uzodinma has revoked the contract and re-awarded it to Leo9 Asphalt and Construction; the engineering firm that handled Relief Market, Shoprite /Dick Tiger /Methodist, Ihechiuwa roads acknowledged by Imo people for excellent engineering and construction.
I am happy seeing the new construction and engineering company taking necessary surveys required to give the road deserved attention.
While I understand the challenges the government face in area of funding, I urge the governor to declare a state of emergency on the Road Safety/Toronto/Nkwo Orji road. That particular road network, connecting to Naze Junction which is getting government attention at the moment is highly strategic in opening Imo for economic development.
