Owerri based legal practitioner, and Political analyst, Obidike Nwagwu Esq, have urged the Imo State Deputy Governor, Prof Placid Njoku, to honorably resign his position as deputy governor, instead of being shamefully impeached.
Nwagwu’s reaction is coming at the heels of numerous media reports, from reliable newspaper companies (including Opera News), hinting of a plot to impeach the Ikeduru born former Vice Chancellor.
Recall that MaaziTV, was the first to blow the whistle on am alleged attempt to remove the Deputy Governor several months ago, and was then branded fake news, with even the politicain mentioned in the plot, Chief Harritex Njoku, calling our publisher to deny any involvement in the plot.
With recent developments in the state, it seems very clear that MaaziTV had been right all along, as the plot seems to have thickened, to unseat the number two citizen of the state.
Speaking to MaaziTV correspondent, Mercy Anaele, on phone from London where he went for a programme, Nwagwu was of the view, that Prof Placid Njoku, should throw in the towel, and resign honorably, rather than wait till be is unceremoniously booted out of office.
“The Deputy Governor is not a politician,” Nwagwu stated. “He is an academic, and they might not be comfortable with him, judging by the way they came into power.
“With the way this matter is going, it’s very clear that one way or the other, they are getting him out of there.
“Uzodinma can only work with people that are like him. Prof Placid Njoku is cut from a different cloth. I won’t be surprised to see him tomorrow, apologizing to Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, for that Supreme Court ruling.
“If I will advise him, it’s best he throws in the towel now, and save himself of the embarrassment of being sacked by a House of Assembly that is ready to do Uzodinma’s biddings.
“Imo people will respect him more, if he takes that bold step. Let Uzodinma continue with people that are like him.”
The Deputy Governor, has yet to make any reaction to the news that have been flying about for over two months.
