More Imolites have died in Hope Uzodinma’s one year, than Udenwa, Ohakim and Okorocha put together

Popular Owerri based blogger and political analyst, Maazi Obinna Akuwudike, have taken a swipe at the Senator Hope Uzodinma led administration, following the recent killings that have been going on in the state.

Akuwudike, whose brother inlaw, was the latest victim in the killings going on in the state in recent times, prominently after the killing of the Eastern Security Network ESN Commander, Ikonso, have blamed Uzodinma for the tension in the state, which has turned the peaceful state, into a militarized zone.

Akuwudike bared his mind, while speaking to Verbatim News correspondent, Mercy Enable at the Federal Medical Centre FMC Owerri, where his brother inlaw died from injuries from a suspected stray bullet.

“The whole problem started when Uzodinma invited the military to deal with his people in Orlu some months ago,” Akuwudike stated. “He even confined to us that he invited the military.

“The ESN people they came after were not attacking anybody. Yet police and army was sent after them, and innocent people lost their lives in the process.

“It has started again. The other day, it was Divine Nwaneri and a farmer. Today it’s my brother inlaw, and all these times, security operatives who should be protecting people, are suspected to be behind these killings.

“You see security operatives killed left and right. It’s very unfortunate. Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha would have handled this matter with diplomacy, instead of sending soldiers after his people. Even Senator Rochas Okorocha would not have deployed soldiers on his own people, especially the area that should be his political stronghold.

“In all the right years of Udenwa, four of Ohakim and eight of Okorocha, put together, we have not lost more Imolites to the wrong decisions of a governor, than Uzodinma’s one year in office.

“This is clearly a sign that he isn’t the governor Imo people voted for. Even Mbaka who once supported him, have turned his back on him, accusing him of killing Imo people.

“Just imagine the house of a governor burnt. This speaks volumes. Just look at lives that have been lost since then.

“Uzodinma have committed political suicide, going after Orlu people, which should be his backbone in 2023. Does this not tell you that Uzodinma will be a one term governor?

“It’s painful. It’s very unfortunate. Until you lose somebody close to you, you will not understand the reality I’m feeling right now.

“Primate Elijah Ayodele have told Uzodinma what to do. He is holding what doesn’t belong to him. He should let the Supreme Court hear the Umeadi case. He knows the outcome. But it is the right thing to do, not just for the good of Imo people, but to restore the integrity of the Supreme Court.

“Today he has ran away to Abuja, leaving the people he claimed voted him to be killed daily like fowl. It’s unfortunate.”

Imo have been in the news recently, with stories of killings of security operatives, and destroying of government facilities by unknown gunmen. Civilians have also been caught in the cross fire.
