The 2015 Deputy Governorship candidate of the UPP, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzorma, have been arrested by the Imo State Police command.
The development was made known to MaaziTV, following series of Facebook posts by friends and supporters, including, Owerri based activist and political analyst, Hon Dr Citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha.
Iwuoha, a former media consultant to the Imo State House of Assembly, who had suffered political persecution in the past, called out the Imo State Police Command, in a post on his Facebook wall, demanding to know what was the crime of Prof Uzorma.
His post reads as follows:
I ask again, why was PROFESSOR Protus Nathan Uzorma arrested by the Imo Police Command? Why is he being tortured? Why was his wife intimidated and threatened, into silence? For over two weeks, he has been in detention.
I ask again, why is he being tortured? Why had the police refused and prevented him from seeing his visitors?
I am calling on Imo citizens, to rise and demand concrete explanation from the Imo State Police Command.
The police has no right to arrest a citizen, and keep him incommunicado.. I am therefore challenging the Imo State Police Command, to open up.
Gini ka PROFESSOR PROTUS NATHAN UZORMA mere? What did he do?
I will be at the Imo State Police Command tomorrow, (07/05/2021) to see PROFESSOR PROTUS NATHAN UZORMA.

Iwuoha would pay a visit to the police headquarters, but would be denied access to Uzorma. He made this known later in the comment section of his post, as he promised to get to the root of the matter.
Yes, I Was At The Police Headquarters Yesterday To See Professor Protus Nathan Uzorma, But Was Prevented From Seeing Him…
I Will Visit His Family House Tomorrow (Sunday) To Inquire From His Wife What Actually Is The Problem. Then On Monday Next Week I Will Visit The Imo Police Headquarters Again To Insist On Seeing Him.I Have Communicated With Other Crusaders In The State, Including, Nze Godwin Ebubeagu Ekenulo Of The be Development.
