The Nnamdi Kanu led Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, have vowed to deal with the Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, while confirming the killing of one of their commanders.
The Police, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and Department of State Services DSD, killed the IPOB’s commander Ikonso along with six other members of the group in Imo.
The IPOB members were gunned down during a raid by the joint task force, on the hideout of the group, in Awomama village, Oru East Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
IPOB Spokesperson Emma Powerful while confirming the killing on Saturday, in a statement, vowed that Senator Hope Uzodinma, along with anybody involved in the attack, will pay dearly for the death of their commanders.
Emma Powerful stated that Hope Uzodinma and the Nigerian security agencies, which he accused of failing to confront Fulani terrorists, only flex their muscles when they see Biafra agitators.
Powerful accused Uzodinma of killing Ikonso because the deceased commander, refused Uzodinma’s offer for him to head the Ebubeagu security unit, which formation, was recently announced by South East governors.
Powerful claimed Uzodinma had tried without success, to lure ESN operatives into Ebubeagu, including making tempting offers, and resorted to killing them when his attempts failed.
Powerful in his statement, claimed that Senator Hope Uzodinma had sent a lot of emissaries to Ikonso, begging them to join Ebubeagu, and their loyalty to Nnamdi Kanu, prompted the raid on their hideout.
